Spurs Villa Preview

A positive goal difference! An elusive dream for all spurs fans! Wait, what? +8? No shit. That's right. Tottenham fans would be exhilarated with the away thrashing of Bournemouth which has seen our goal difference rise steeply with the goals flowing, especially from the likes of Kane, who desperately needed to score some goals this season. Spurs currently sit on the 6th place in the league table, and a win tonight could see us grab the 5th place, one point within 4th placed Manchester United.

Our opponents: Aston Villa

Aston Villa's interim manager, Kevin Macdonald faces a tough trip to White Hart Lane for his first game in charge. Spurs have already faced a new Liverpool side under Jurgen Klopp immediately after Rodgers left Liverpool.
Villa, without their boss, Tim Sherwood, occupy the last place in the table. Sherwood was given the sack after just 10 games into this season for the dire form that his team has produced. Villa has managed to grab only 4 points from 10 games while their opponents for tonight are undefeated in 9 league games.
However, this doesn't mean that Pochettino will take Villa lightly. This fixture ended 0-1 to the away Villans, thanks to a headed goal from Benteke. In the absence of Benteke, Gestede and Ayew have got the goals flowing and possess a formidable attacking threat.

Stats :

Tottenham have lost just one of their last 13 Premier League games against Aston Villa (W9 D3), although that defeat came last time out (0-1 at home in April 2015).
The Villans have bagged a total of just two goals on their last six league trips to White Hart Lane.
Aston Villa had a player sent off in both meetings with Spurs last season (Christian Benteke at Villa Park, Carlos Sanchez at White Hart Lane).
Jordan Amavi has embarked on 58 dribbles in the Premier League this season, the third-highest total overall and 26 more than any other defender.

Team News:

Tottenham have almost a full squad to choose from apart from Heung -Min Son(foot), Nacer Chadli(ankle), Nabil Bentaleb(ankle), Alex Pritchard(ankle).

KO Time: 12.30 AM IST.

Venue: White Hart Lane.

Leicester preview

Leicester City vs Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Spurs, not surprisingly 14th on the table with one point, find themselves up against the Foxes, surprisingly and deservedly only second on the table.

Leicester City:

Leicester City, while not totally assured at the back, have enough firepower that has seen them defeat Sunderland on the opening day and West Ham in their second fixture.
Under new management of Claudio Ranieri, the Foxes look incisive and prolific in attack. In two games, Leicester have managed 6 goals, while Spurs have mustered only 2.
From the first two matches, it seems evident that most of the Leicester attack develops from its wings. While Vardy does provide a lot of movement up top, containing Mahrez and Albrighton will be key for Spurs' full backs.
Although Sunderland did put up a poor show at the King Power stadium on the opening day and West Ham could only get a goal against Leicester, interestingly, one common stat for the losing teams was the amount of shots from inside the box, 7 each. Something Spurs could look to exploit.

Spurs:

Although Spurs did put up a creditable performance at Old Trafford and was arguably the better team at home to Stoke City, lack of results has always been an issue for the Lilywhites.
Spurs have the full squad to select from, except Andros Townsend, who recently sustained an injury.
Also, Clinton N'jie could be handed his debut after sealing a move from Lyon.
Spurs will be hoping to continue their recent success over Leicester, successfully doing a double over the Foxes last season.

Kick off time: 19.30 IST
Stadium: King Power stadium.
Referee: Martin Atkinson

Prediction: 3-1 to Spurs.

West Brom vs Spurs : Preview

Last time around, thanks to a James Morrison header in the 74th minute, West Brom came out on top for the first time in their last 9 league meetings with Spurs.
Going straight into the team news, Mauricio Pochettino has the entire squad to select from except Nacer Chadli and Nabil Bentaleb, who is enjoying a good spell with Algeria in the African Nations Cup. On the other hand, new manager Tony Pulis is missing Boaz Myhill , Youssouf Mulumbu and Jonas Olsson. New signing Callum Mcmanaman is available for selection and is most likely to make his debut for the Baggies.
Spurs, currently sitting on 6th, need those 3 points to pose any threat to the top 4. The Baggies, themselves desperate for points, are just 3 points from safety and sit on the 14th position.
Spurs will be looking to maintain their good form at the Hawthorns, having lost none of the last 4 Premier League games (W2D2).
Mauricio Pochettino, aware of the fact that his side needs to play 7 games in the next 29 days, knows that nothing less than 3 points will be a good result.
