Spurs Villa Preview

A positive goal difference! An elusive dream for all spurs fans! Wait, what? +8? No shit. That's right. Tottenham fans would be exhilarated with the away thrashing of Bournemouth which has seen our goal difference rise steeply with the goals flowing, especially from the likes of Kane, who desperately needed to score some goals this season. Spurs currently sit on the 6th place in the league table, and a win tonight could see us grab the 5th place, one point within 4th placed Manchester United.

Our opponents: Aston Villa

Aston Villa's interim manager, Kevin Macdonald faces a tough trip to White Hart Lane for his first game in charge. Spurs have already faced a new Liverpool side under Jurgen Klopp immediately after Rodgers left Liverpool.
Villa, without their boss, Tim Sherwood, occupy the last place in the table. Sherwood was given the sack after just 10 games into this season for the dire form that his team has produced. Villa has managed to grab only 4 points from 10 games while their opponents for tonight are undefeated in 9 league games.
However, this doesn't mean that Pochettino will take Villa lightly. This fixture ended 0-1 to the away Villans, thanks to a headed goal from Benteke. In the absence of Benteke, Gestede and Ayew have got the goals flowing and possess a formidable attacking threat.

Stats :

Tottenham have lost just one of their last 13 Premier League games against Aston Villa (W9 D3), although that defeat came last time out (0-1 at home in April 2015).
The Villans have bagged a total of just two goals on their last six league trips to White Hart Lane.
Aston Villa had a player sent off in both meetings with Spurs last season (Christian Benteke at Villa Park, Carlos Sanchez at White Hart Lane).
Jordan Amavi has embarked on 58 dribbles in the Premier League this season, the third-highest total overall and 26 more than any other defender.

Team News:

Tottenham have almost a full squad to choose from apart from Heung -Min Son(foot), Nacer Chadli(ankle), Nabil Bentaleb(ankle), Alex Pritchard(ankle).
